What Should Happen If Vick Is Found Guilty?

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, pets, JeauxBleauz | Monday, 30 July 2007

By now you’ve probably heard about Michael Vick, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback who was recently indicted for running a dog fighting ring. But just in case you live on the moon, you can read about it here. If you are squeamish or prone to nightmares you might not want to read this.

I’d like to get your opinion of what should happen to Michael Vick if he is found guilty of running dog-fights, and all the allegations of cruelty to animals are found to be true. Understand please, that I am making no judgments or predictions about his guilt or innocence, we are all to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Nor am I advocating any of these choices. However, I am a fervent dog lover and I’m interested to know just how strongly other people feel about the issue of dog fighting, so I have come up with a contest, at the end of which, I will give fifteen dollars to the winner, plus, I will donate fifteen dollars in the name of the winner to the Humane Society’s campaign to stamp out animal fighting…I wish I could give more, but I’m a po’ girl. Simply write a post telling us your choice and your reasoning for that choice with a link to this post, and let me know in comments that you posted.The winner will be chosen in a random drawing. Here are your choices;

What Do You Think Should Happen If Michael Vick is found guilty?

1. Public service or better yet, nothing…they’re dogs, it’s not like he killed a human, what’s the big deal?

2. He should be suspended from the NFL and fined. Dog fights are illegal after all.

3. He should get suspended, a fine + some jail time, we need to send out a clear message to people who abuse animals!

4. He deserves suspension from NFL for life, a stiff fine, one he’ll really feel + some jail time with a seven foot tall room-mate nicknamed “Bend’em-Over Bubba”…

5. Roll him in bacon grease then toss him into a ring with a pack of his former victims.

There are your five choices, so get to work! And thanks for participating! Contest ends at noon, august 13th.

Get Fechr-ed!

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized | Friday, 27 July 2007

Here’s a new site that sounds interesting, it’s called Fechr.com, pronounced “feature”. The idea is that the site will “fechr” one site per day, starting at midnight and running a WHOLE day, like 24 HOURS! And they’re currently getting a hundred plus visitors a day, so that’s a HUNDRED plus visitors seeing my blog! And it’s FREE, (I’m getting all tingly!) at least for now, so even I can afford it. All you have to do is write a quick post about the site then, once your site is featured you just sit back and wait for the crowds! I’d get in there quick though, once it becomes wildly popular there will be a small fee, about one cent per visit. Which still sounds pretty darned good to me!

Remember The Sky King Trike?

jeauxzdollz | Gift Items, baby, kids | Friday, 27 July 2007

OMGosh, did you ever see anything so CUTE?? Remember the Sky King from the 1930’s? Okay, well even I don’t remember those. These fabulous replicas are probably the closest most of us will ever get to owning a rare Sky King tricycle, especially with the originals going for $3000 and upwards! These stunning 1936 replicas are mechanically identical to the original, with solid rubber tires for durability, spring seats and a brilliant red powder coat paint job, set off with chrome insignias. And if the trike doesn’t put you right over the edge, check out the airplanes! I WANNA be a kid again!

A Blog Is Like…….A Red Red Nose…

jeauxzdollz | peoples, JeauxBleauz | Friday, 27 July 2007

Like I said earlier, I’ve been meeting a lot of new people since I began blogging, one of them, Skeet, is trying out a new feature on her blog, Skeet’s Stuff, so I thought it would be right neighborly to participate!
The idea is to come up with a simile, if you don’t remember that from lit, a simile is when you take two essentially unlike things and make a comparison between them.
Skeet’s first simile is: A blog is like_________
So here’s my attempt at simile and don’t laugh! I’m easily wounded!

Sometimes a blog is like an exotic, found egg, you hope for a rare and beautiful bird who’ll eat from your hand, but sometimes you get a crocodile who snaps off your fingertip.

Okay, so I may not be Hemingway, but I believe my simile still holds true. I think every writer hopes their words will move and inspire people, or even just give them a giggle, but occasionally we all fall flat in our attempts and our most earnest efforts are rejected, unappreciated. All we can do when this happens is pick ourselves back up, dust off our hiney’s and keep blogging onward.

Yes, I Had Cosmetic Surgery

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, Beauty, JeauxBleauz | Thursday, 26 July 2007

Okay, here’s yet another thing you don’t know about me…are you ready? Here goes…Okay, wait, now I’m not ready. Okay! Ok…now I’m really gonna do it..I’m gonna confess…
I HAD COSMETIC SURGERY.
No it wasn’t a boob job (though I could use one) or a face lift (could use even more) or a butt tuck or even lipo.

No. I got my very own chin.
I clearly remember the first time I realized I had no chin, I was about seven and we went to a department store to buy school clothes and they had this three way mirror. I remember the feeling of falling through the floor when I realized how I looked from the side. I guess, being seven, I had just assumed I was a normal little kid, even cute like my sister and my cousins. I don’t think I ever felt quite the same after that, from that moment on I knew I was different, I didn’t look like anyone else around me. Inevitably, the other kids began letting me know I looked funny too, and I became very shy and let my hair hang in my face and did my best to become invisible.

When I got into my thirties I decided I needed a chin, I knew my husband loved me just the way I was, but I felt like my chinless state made me seem…weak somehow. I saved up for about a year, then scheduled the surgery. The Doctor joked that he was putting in his “Dolly Parton” chin implant because I had so little chin. The surgery itself wasn’t that bad, but OMG! The post op pain was unreal. I’ve had a couple of surgeries since (bladder, lumpectomy) but nothing that could compare with that pain…it was like every tooth in my head was abscessed and I couldn’t open my mouth more than an inch. It was twenty four hours of agony, but the strange thing is, I would do it again in a heartbeat. I love my new chin! I still have what some people might think of as a slightly “weak” chin, but it still a vast improvement! So for anyone thinking about chin surgery, I say go for it. You won’t regret it.

Marigold Sweetpea Tee….Sweet!

jeauxzdollz | T-Shirts, fashion | Tuesday, 24 July 2007

This tee is as much a work of art as a fashion statement. Supermaggie’s Marigold Sweetpea tees are hand dyed in fabulous saturated colors then layered with images taken from Maggie’s own garden. Tees are light weight cotton jersey, so they’re cool and comfy in the sizzling summer months, but you could wear it right into the fall, in fact, this one reminds me of Indian summer. These were printed in limited quantities so get yours before they’re all gone!
