Swimwear Camouflage

jeauxzdollz | fashion | Friday, 22 February 2008

Ugh. I’m starting to see bathing suits popping up in stores and I’m no where near ready to parade around a pool half-nekkid. I go through this every single year, around the end of February panic sets in and I start pricing exercise equipment, promising to hit the walking trail, maybe even join a sports team…if they even have sports teams for out of shape middle-aged women.
And every single year I fail to get into shape and have to fall back on camouflage…

No, not that kind of camouflage. While this camo swimsuit is cute, you’d have to be Victoria Secret model to pull it off.

What I’m talking about is swimsuits that help camouflage a less than perfect figure. Like this Kenneth Cole Reaction suit with halter top and skirted bottom.

Or this Slender Tunic Swimsuit from Land’s End.

Wythe Lamp

I love this pendant lamp, it has an Asian feel to it, as well as an urban streets appeal. The Wythe lamp is by RE-SURFACE, a brooklyn-based design studio. Lamp is 5″ around by 11″ tall, comes with a 15′ foot plug in cord.

Eating On The Fly

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized | Wednesday, 20 February 2008

Since I’ve been working my husband and I are eating on the fly more and more often. By the time I get home, get to the grocery and finish any other errands I have to run, I’m worn out and too tired to cook. Tonight we popped into Subway, I had the little personal sized pizza. It was good, but I have no delusions about dropping major poundage like Jared.
I would love to lose some weight, but short of diet pills, lap-band surgery or maybe having my lips sewn shut, I just don’t see it happening. Plus I really don’t have the energy these days for exercise…

Why Is The Print So Small These Days?

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized | Tuesday, 19 February 2008

They say you should always read the small print. To which I say, what small print? You mean that smudgy line at the bottom of the page? When did they start making print so small?
I recently got some prescription reading glasses; they help, when I have them with me, unfortunately, I almost never have them with me. Mostly, they’re tucked into my purse, safely ensconced in their hard plastic case–prescription eyeglasses aren’t cheap, you know! My husband keeps suggesting I get some of those chains that hook to the ends, but I keep remembering all my old lady teachers, with their eyeglasses resting on their old-lady chests…
I generally use a large box-lit magnifying glass for working on small objects, like dolls, so I guess on some level I’m still somewhat resistant to wearing glasses, much less glasses with chains.

Tumbleweed Ashes

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, Gift Items | Friday, 15 February 2008

My husband actually has one of these sitting on his desk…it was a gift from one of his employees on boss’s day. I always wonder what job applicants think when they see it sitting there or the already nervous employee about to ask for a raise or receive their annual employee performance evaluations?
A great gift for the boss in your life. The Tumbleweed Ashes jar is made of glazed ceramic and stands 5″ by 4.5″. Colors may vary.

Unwind With The Big Blue Bath Bomb…

jeauxzdollz | health, Beauty | Friday, 15 February 2008

Ooohh! This sounds wonderful! Put the kids down for a nap, sit the hubby in front of the tube…Now fill your tub with up warm water and drop the Big Blue Bath Bomb into your bath and lay back and imagine yourself drifting on soothing ocean waves, snorkeling at the seashore, or deep sea diving in a beautiful blue coral reef! Loose yourself in Big Blues refreshing fragrance of lavender and lemon, let your cares drift away like so many tiny bubbles!

It may not be the fountain of youth, but it’s close!

Winter Is Nearly Over

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized | Friday, 15 February 2008

Wow! It’s already February 15! We’ve already gotten through most of the winter! It’s hard to imagine, looking out on the bleak, barren world that in just another month, the first spring flowers will begin popping up, shorty-shorts and tanned young legs will begin to appear and I will begin to stick out like a sore thumb–as I’ll no longer blend in with the colorless, snow-covered landscape.
Every year about this time, I get the mad impulse to hit the tanning bed and the exercise trail, maybe even try some diet pills, in hopes of losing enough weight to don a tank top and a cute little pair of shorts, maybe even a bathing suit. I’ll probably make the same vow this year with the same results…in July, I’ll still be fifteen pounds overweight and jean clad because my legs are the color of a dead fish’s belly. I should probably move to Alaska.

Getting Organized, While Looking Great…

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, home, business | Friday, 15 February 2008

It’s pretty clear that most of us could use a bit of work on our organization, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many television programs and products primarily devoted to getting our lives, homes and workplace under control. I’m all for getting organized, I just don’t see why things can’t still look great. These Thomas Paul Magazine Holders come in three great patterns and colors; red, aqua and brown, to corral otherwise messy magazines, periodicals and paperwork. foldersthomaspaul.jpg
These boxes from office basics, will hold anything! Just imagine how great you would feel if your photos, documents and bills, budgeting and planning receipts and coupons, were all safely and beautifully organized! Each box measures 3 1/2″ high by 12″ wide by 19″ long.

It Lives….!!!!

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, JeauxBleauz | Saturday, 09 February 2008

Well I’m still amongst the living, if you call this living. My husband is trying to talk me into getting out today…I haven’t been out since Tuesday, haven’t worn makeup, done my hair, barely got dressed. I’ve been slowly getting ready this morning, but I got so dizzy I had to sit down a couple of times while I was doing my hair. I’m still coughing like a TB patient and I’m not entirely sure the fever is gone. I may need a skin graft around my nose and yesterday I woke up with a cold in my right eye, it’s all red and puffy and I look like a cat with distemper…I’m really alluring right now, I must say.

We talked about looking at some cars today. Our van is coughing and wheezing, it sounds a bit like me. I just hate the idea of another monthly payment and more auto insurance! The van at least is paid off…

The Flu Bug Done Got me

jeauxzdollz | Uncategorized, JeauxBleauz | Friday, 08 February 2008

Did anyone miss me? I’ve been flat on my back sick since Tuesday night. We went to vote right after work Tuesday and then ran to the store for a few provisions…that’s when I first noticed all the little sparkles dancing in front of my eyes and the sound of hissing coming from my ears. I got so dizzy I had to sit down several times.

By nightfall I was feverish, chilling and breaking with goosebumps and I thought my head was gonna split wide open. My hips, arms, legs, neck ached so bad I couldn’t begin to get comfortable and my lungs and head immediately filled to bursting with mucus. Even the roof of my mouth hurt! Then I began bleeding from my eyes, ears and pores…(actually I just made that last part up to see if you were paying attention, though as lousy as I felt, those symptoms wouldn’t have surprised me)

I’ve been up and around a bit today, but I still feel tired and woozy. This morning Chuck found the thermometer, it was in the kitchen junk drawer, mixed in with hundreds of emery boards, balls of twine and promotional pens. I guess I’m not quite over the bug, as my temp is 101 and two tenths. I really hope I didn’t make anyone else sick…wouldn’t wish this flu on my worst enemy.
