Kizzy Gets Fixed…Please Spay or Neuter Your Pets!

Yesterday, we took Kismet to get spayed. I felt pretty guilty because when she realized we were going bye-bye, she became so excited she flung herself into a series of “Chin spins”. (something Japanese chins are apparently known for, they go into a fit of tight circles for about ten seconds, kind of like tail-chasing, only no tails are actually chased…it appears to be an expression of pure chin joy) When I picked her up today she wasn’t nearly so excited, poor baby. As you can see by the picture she is one unhappy pup. On the other hand, she won’t have the misery of heats, or the strain of puppies, she’ll live longer, be healthier and the world won’t have yet another litter of unneeded, unwanted puppies. So I guess I don’t feel so guilty after all.

[...] Bear with me, I haven’t gotten quite situated yet, don’t even have my background theme picked out as of the moment. Everything is all white and quiet, it’s sort of weird. But I do know what I want to blog about. Dogs. Dogs and all things relating to dogs. Especially my dogs. I have seven, I’ll list them in order of size, starting with the shortys since they’re usually the last to arrive anywhere. Our two poms are named Brownie and Twinkie, they’re very best buds. Then there’s Kismet or Kizzy as we call her, she’s a Japanese Chin and you may have already met her on my other more established blog, next there’s Wishbone, she’s a Jack Russell mix. Then our dachshund, Weenie and her best friend, a really lovable mutt named Beans, who you also may have already met on my other blog. Lastly, there is Ginger, a poodle cocker and ? mix. That’s the crew. I’ll keep you updated on any mischief they get into. [...]
