Fickle Food

I finally got a day at home today. How did I spend it? I cleaned my house, swept and dusted and mopped every room…I know, I live on the edge. But it really needed it since we’ve barely been home for the past few weeks. The bedroom was the worst. Not because we’re particularly messy, but because the room contains so many large items that are difficult to move around. We have a heavy king sized bed, a huge antique dresser with a marble top and handkerchief boxes and what-nots. Then there’s the TV area. Our TV is quite large and so heavy it sits on another dresser top. It’s nearly impossible to move it enough to clean behind it, so all the dust heads straight for the pile of wires, cables and such.

I wish I could afford a flat screen TV that would take less space. The nursing home recently purchased a really big one for the residents. It’s attached to the wall and has a speaker mount, so that everything is neatly hidden away and there’s nothing to trip over or to collect dust. I’m hoping that big dollar items like flat screen televisions will go on sale about the time the rebate checks come out…
