What Should Happen If Vick Is Found Guilty?
By now you’ve probably heard about Michael Vick, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback who was recently indicted for running a dog fighting ring. But just in case you live on the moon, you can read about it here. If you are squeamish or prone to nightmares you might not want to read this.
I’d like to get your opinion of what should happen to Michael Vick if he is found guilty of running dog-fights, and all the allegations of cruelty to animals are found to be true. Understand please, that I am making no judgments or predictions about his guilt or innocence, we are all to be presumed innocent until proven guilty. Nor am I advocating any of these choices. However, I am a fervent dog lover and I’m interested to know just how strongly other people feel about the issue of dog fighting, so I have come up with a contest, at the end of which, I will give fifteen dollars to the winner, plus, I will donate fifteen dollars in the name of the winner to the Humane Society’s campaign to stamp out animal fighting…I wish I could give more, but I’m a po’ girl. Simply write a post telling us your choice and your reasoning for that choice with a link to this post, and let me know in comments that you posted.The winner will be chosen in a random drawing. Here are your choices;
What Do You Think Should Happen If Michael Vick is found guilty?
1. Public service or better yet, nothing…they’re dogs, it’s not like he killed a human, what’s the big deal?
2. He should be suspended from the NFL and fined. Dog fights are illegal after all.
3. He should get suspended, a fine + some jail time, we need to send out a clear message to people who abuse animals!
4. He deserves suspension from NFL for life, a stiff fine, one he’ll really feel + some jail time with a seven foot tall room-mate nicknamed “Bend’em-Over Bubba”…
5. Roll him in bacon grease then toss him into a ring with a pack of his former victims.
There are your five choices, so get to work! And thanks for participating! Contest ends at noon, august 13th.

Hey Thanks Leigh! P.S. I’m feeling better, now that I’ve turned my innards completely inside out! Thanks again! Jo
[…] Michael Vick is a case in point. He didn’t just abuse the pit bulls in his care, he tortured and killed them for sport. His original pleas of ignorance (”I didn’t know they were doing that on my estate!”) have been proven to be lies. His history of abuse of animals and involvement in dog fighting is well-documented and proves that he not only knew but enthusiastically supported the atrocities that were committed, whether he was present at each incident or not. That being the case, Jo at Fickle Food has asked What should happen if Vick is found guilty? She proposes five possible answers to the question and has created a contest* on her blog to encouraging others to let their outrage be known. The punishments she asks us to select from are: […]
Sorry I was so slow to get to this! My post can be found at: http://skeetsstuff.skeeterbess.com/2007/08/10/an-eye-for-an-eye/
Thanks Skeet! Great post! Jo
He should be banned from the NFL and fined for all that he has got, he is a loser. He should have to get a job bagging groceries because that is all he is qualified for outside of football. Anyone that can do such cruelties to aniamls should have claim to the same fate as it is the most cowardly of acts.
